Using MotoWave

A short guide to finding stations, playback, favorites, history, casting, and common problems.

Getting started

Use Discover to browse stations or search by name, country, language, and genre. Tap a station to start playback.

Save stations you want to keep around as favorites so they are easy to find again.

Playback

MotoWave supports background playback and iOS Lock Screen and Control Center controls. The app can also show current playback through its widgets.

The sleep timer stops playback after the duration you choose.

Station availability is outside MotoWave’s control. Internet radio streams are run by independent stations and can move, go offline, or temporarily fail.

Favorites and history

Favorites are stored on your device. Listening history helps you return to recently played stations and see song metadata when a station provides it.

You can clear song history and cached station or artwork data from Settings.

AirPlay and Google Cast

Use AirPlay to send audio to compatible Apple devices and speakers. Use the Cast button for Chromecast, Google TV, and other supported Google Cast receivers.

Google Cast discovery needs Local Network access so MotoWave can find devices on your network. MotoWave does not request microphone or Bluetooth access for Cast.

Troubleshooting

A station will not play

  1. Try another station to confirm your network connection is working.
  2. Try the station again a little later.
  3. If only one station fails consistently, the station’s stream may be offline or outdated.

A Cast device does not appear

Confirm the iPhone and Cast device are on the same local network and that MotoWave has Local Network permission in iOS Settings.

Now-playing information looks stale

Station metadata is supplied by the stream. Some stations update it slowly or do not provide song information at all.

The app still looks stuck

Force-quit MotoWave and reopen it. If the problem continues, include the station name, app version, iOS version, and device model when contacting support.
